The NYP Video Media website was created to highlight the award-winning work produced by the video team at the New York Post. I began by creating initial wireframes for both desktop and mobile, depicting different ways we could lay out the content based on the hierarchy demands of the video team. Since we were creating a brand new design and utilizing a new grid, I wanted to take the opportunity to explore full length video options, along with playing with transitions between content such as parallax scrolling. With the focus on videos, I wanted to keep this as an image heavy site and place the most eye-catching content and copy at the top to immediately grab the attention of users. The site was then broken down into the team’s separate video categories such as “Entertainment” and”Technology,” a large “Contact US” call out used as a primary CTA, and the team members featured in the masthead.
With so much creative freedom to play with the imagery and animated video sections, I truly enjoyed working with the team and coming up with a solution that would best convey their hard work and expertise in compelling storytelling.
