Our main objective with the Decider website was to create a playful, engaging experience for users to stay up-to-date on their favorite shows and learn about new trending content across streaming platforms including Netflix and Hulu. Working closely with creative director, Jan-Jan Tayson, the initial wireframes focused on giving users the highest in-demand content first, then guiding them through curated lists of new and recommended shows. As the project grew, we decided to add more original content and unique features such as the “Mood” emojis filter in the “More Recommendations” section. By selecting emojis like “adventurous” or “nostalgic,” users can find new shows and movies based on their current mood. Another example would be the “Ultimate Guides” lists developed by the extremely creative team at Decider.
Whether it is through the use of fun shapes and bold colors, or their jaw-dropping articles, Decider will always remain an informational, yet hilariously fun and unique experience for today’s on-demand generation users.
