Paramore Website

Client: Atlantic Records

Role: Lead Web/UX Designer

The newly launched Paramore site is the largest, most extensive site Atlantic Records has developed to date. The responsive design utilizes custom layouts adhering to mobile, laptop and larger screen devices. Taking a mobile first approach, I worked with a team of developers brainstorming, testing and revising wireframes that would accommodates grids we could use for all of our future artists sites.

I strived to create an entirely new experience for Paramore fans, from design, to viewing photos/videos and interacting with other members of the community. Each page including Home, Bio, Photos and Videos all utilize custom layouts that stray from anything we have done before; with goals to create an experience that is more engaging and better suited for the needs of the users.

The overall response from the fans was extremely positive. Our efforts and the risks we took were extremely successful. Fans from all over the world tweeted their excitement for the new site launch, showing their appreciation and enjoyment in using the new features and functionalities. It was one of the most rewarding sites I have ever worked on, as I was able to take the lead role in conceptualizing wireframes, designs and received immediate, direct feedback from the fans.

Wiz Khalifa Website

Client: Atlantic Records

Role: Lead Web/UX Designer

Simple in design, the new Wiz Khalifa website exemplifies an entirely new layout that would help achieve three main goals: reduce clutter on the website, highlight what the fans are already doing and create an overall better user experience.

The new features include a “Most Wanted” section, where only the most liked and viewed posts will appear, not only simplifying the homepage but in essence, showing the fans only what they want to see. Also featured is a “Fan Art” section where talented users who have for over a year, been posting their art to the website, have a real place where they can showcase their work; Lastly, I have suggested a more focused discussions module that pose only one question as oppose to several, to help narrow the attention of the user and allow them to participate.

Prince Royce Website

Client: Atlantic Records

Role: Lead Web/UX Designer

Initially brought on as an art director, I took the lead as designer and created both the wireframe and final designs for the website. Accommodating the management’s desire to create more of an experience for the fans and stray from the typical streaming blog site, we displayed a giant video on the homepage that autoplayed and featured a scrolling twitter feed at the bottom, along with a new horizontal layout for our news posts.

LOGO DESIGN

Client: Eaton Landscaping & Construction

Role: Designer and Illustrator

Developed logo concepts and mascot designs for Eaton Landscaping & Construction. The goal was to create a logo that would seamlessly combine the idea of playful yet professional. I began the process with a few versions that played with graphic/flat vs. round/cartoon shapes and combined with type that would compliment the styles of each.

The chosen logo was a combination of two concepts, where the typography exuded a professional appeal and the mascot was the friendly, inviting approach the client was gearing towards for their viewers.

Preliminary Round Concepts

swa.jpg

"Brick Monster"

Coupled with a bold san-serif, the mascot design here is simple in it's nature and created using only flat/graphic shapes.

I also manipulated the type to further push the idea of stacked bricks, something key to the landscaping brand.

"Type Play"

With the focus on typography, I utilized the "O" as a garden wall to represent the outdoors and added lighter, contrasting colors to add dimension

Logos_Eaton-8.jpg

'Brick Stance"

The mascot is the star of the show! Made up of bricks and cement, this character radiates personality and presents an engaging and inviting

environment for potential clients. I combined the character with type that flatters the round, exaggerated shapes used in the design.

Decider Website

Client: Decider

Role: Lead Web/UX Designer

Our main objective with the Decider website was to create a playful, engaging experience for users to stay up-to-date on their favorite shows and learn about new trending content across streaming platforms including Netflix and Hulu. Working closely with creative director, Jan-Jan Tayson, the initial wireframes focused on giving users the highest in-demand content first, then guiding them through curated lists of new and recommended shows. As the project grew, we decided to add more original content and unique features such as the “Mood” emojis filter in the “More Recommendations” section. By selecting emojis like “adventurous” or “nostalgic,” users can find new shows and movies based on their current mood. Another example would be the “Ultimate Guides” lists developed by the extremely creative team at Decider.

Whether it is through the use of fun shapes and bold colors, or their jaw-dropping articles, Decider will always remain an informational, yet hilariously fun and unique experience for today’s on-demand generation users.
